The CHYP is a plug-and-play iPod and auxiliary audio input interface for late model Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep vehicles. It is compatible with Nano, Photo, Mini, and Gen 3, Gen 4, and Gen 5 iPods. Using either the iPod clickwheel or factory radio or steering wheel controls (if equipped), customers can track forward and back for songs as well as rewind and fast-forward them. And because the CHYP connects directly to the radio, it maintains the original digital-quality sound.
The CHYP also comes with both an RCA jack and +12 volt output to add an auxiliary input. So customers can choose to select either their iPod or auxiliary input device to play through their factory radio. When selected through the radio, the iPod pauses and plays automatically. The CHYP even charges the iPod
* iPod controls though factory radio or steering wheel controls (if equipped)
* Control of the iPod through the iPods clickwheel control is retained
* Audio feeds directly into the factory radio for best sound quality
* Charges iPod’s internal battery
* Compatible with factory installed satellite
Notes: Not compatible with REF model factory radios. Model is indicated on the face of the factory radio. Compatible with RAQ, REC, and RAK series factory radios. If the vehicle has a VES (Video Entertainment System), it must be disconnected. The audio from the VES will no longer play through the factory stereo, but the video and wireless headphones will still function normally. VES does NOT operate in R.A.P. mode, the radio will automatically switch from the CHYP to tuner mode during R.A.P. (Retained Accessory Power). Compatible with factory installed satellite.
